About Living Water Trauma Counseling & Consulting

A Christian Counseling Group Rooted in Safety, Warmth, and Deep Healing

People come to us carrying stories that feel heavy, confusing, or long overdue for healing.
At Living Water, we want you to know one thing from the very beginning:

You are not too much.
You are not alone.
And your story matters to God — and to us.

We are a group of Christian clinicians who blend biblical wisdom, neuroscience, and evidence-based trauma care to help you heal gently and deeply.
Our approach is warm, relational, and grounded in the belief that every person is made in the image of God — worthy of compassion, dignity, and restoration.

Who We Are

We are a team of compassionate and knowledgeable therapists who are committed to walking alongside people through the toughest parts of their stories. Each clinician offers unique training and experience, but our heart remains the same:

To create a safe, attuned space where healing becomes possible.

We specialize in trauma, grief, anxiety, ADHD, dissociation, spiritual wounds, relationship breakdowns, identity, and emotional overwhelm.
We support adults, teens (17+), kids 10+, and couples, offering both traditional therapy and experiential modalities.

Our posture is gentle, Christ-centered, and deeply human.
We’re not here to push, pressure, or rush you.
We’re here to walk beside you — at your pace, with compassion and clarity.

Elizabeth Moffitt, MA, LPC, NCC, EMDR

Founder & LPC Supervisor
EMDR Certified Therapist & EMDR Consultant
Equine-Assisted EMDR (EquiLateral) Trained • Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Certified
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Trained
Not currently accepting new clients

Elizabeth is the founder of Living Water Trauma Counseling & Consulting and the clinical heart behind the practice. She leads with the belief that healing happens best in safe, relational spaces, where people feel deeply seen, respected, and supported.

Elizabeth specializes in working with adults (18+) and couples who are navigating trauma and abuse, grief and loss, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and difficult or life-altering circumstances. Her work is grounded in evidence-based, trauma-informed care, integrating EMDR, attachment-focused approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), experiential and clay art therapy, equine-assisted work, and traditional office-based counseling.

She has a particular sensitivity to clients who feel stuck, discouraged, or unsure why “what they’ve tried before” hasn’t worked. Elizabeth understands how vulnerable it can feel to begin counseling — especially if past experiences were unhelpful or painful — and she deeply honors the courage it takes to take that first step. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and paced, with a strong emphasis on relationship and trust.

Elizabeth enjoys working with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and life experiences, believing that life becomes less frightening — and far more meaningful — when we are able to heal and grow in connection with others. She values each therapeutic relationship and works closely with clients to clarify goals, strengthen insight, and rediscover a sense of wholeness and true identity.

Elizabeth earned her Master’s degree with distinction from a rigorous counseling program at a Christian university, where she was trained to ethically integrate Christian faith with evidence-based clinical practice. She is a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC) and an EMDRIA-certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant, having voluntarily met high national standards for counseling competence, ethics, and trauma-informed care. While she is a Christian and integrates faith when desired, Elizabeth works respectfully with clients of all belief systems.

In addition to her clinical leadership, Elizabeth provides EMDR consultation for clinicians seeking EMDR training, certification, or advanced consultation through EMDRIA, and she also offers clinical supervision for therapists seeking thoughtful, ethical, and trauma-informed guidance. She is deeply committed to mentoring clinicians in attuned, neuroscience-informed, and relationally grounded practice.

Although Elizabeth is not currently accepting new therapy clients, she remains actively involved in the leadership, supervision, and clinical direction of Living Water. She is committed to cultivating a practice where clients and clinicians alike experience warmth, safety, excellence in care, and genuine hope.

Outside of her professional work, Elizabeth is a lifelong learner who loves animals, reading, music, movies, being outdoors, and spending time with friends, family, and her horse. A Tennessee native at heart, she has called Colorado home since 2007.

As a therapist with Colorado Experiential Counseling, it is with complete warmth I say hello and welcome the opportunity to aid, support and assist in your healing journey.

As a bilingual mental health therapist in spoken Spanish and English, with close to 2 decades of mental health experience, I have learned and fully embrace the concept of safety so that we can explore the areas of life that can be puzzling, painful, and tender. I believe that we are equipped to connect with one another in a deep and meaningful way throughout our lives. While preferably this would happen free of discomfort and sadness, most of us aren’t that fortunate. From one single event to a lifetime of pain and suffering, I work with people to help them shed the scars of their pain and embrace the warmth of their core self and the beautiful potential for healing.

I am a Somatic Integration Processing (SIP) therapist. I’ve had the unique, distinct, pleasure of being trained in SIP I, and SIP II. I thoroughly enjoy the guidance it has allowed me to support my clients. In incorporating the wisdom found within SIP, I am able to assist in picking the healthiest of therapeutic modalities in your journey of healing, and hopefully, with time, wholeness.

I graduated ‘with distinction’ in a scholastically accredited Master’s of Social Work program through Azusa Pacific University. I also graduated with Phi Alpha Honor Society. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. In addition, I graduated from an accredited Christian University, where I learned how to integrate my Christian faith with evidence-based counseling approaches in an ethical manner. I work with people from all backgrounds, including religious and non-religious belief systems. I also successfully passed the clinical Association of Social Work Boards (LCSW). The ASWB develops and maintains the national social work licensing examinations that are used to test a social worker’s competence to practice ethically and safely. I am an EMDR Certified therapist and consultant, who is trauma-informed and also is registered through EMDRIA. EMDR is a leading and highly accepted evidence-based therapy approach for assisting in all trauma and other related concerns. I have also trained in other trauma-focused, evidence-based therapy approaches.

I would be honored to join you on your healing journey!

Life can be hard under the best of circumstances, but it’s even harder when you feel as though you’re drowning in pain, anxiety, depression, loneliness or confusion. Carrying those burdens by yourself can be extremely isolating and can make you feel as though you’re losing your mind. I understand how hard it can be to just get through the day when you feel like you’re falling apart, but you aren’t alone in this struggle.

I am passionate about helping you feel safe and calm, so you can start to discover a sense of hope and joy for the future. I utilize a person-centered approach to therapy, with techniques from motivational interviewing (MI), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and neuroscience to create a unique therapeutic experience to fit your specific needs.

I understand how scary it can be to begin counseling and to trust a stranger with your pain. I strive to make your therapeutic experience as compassionate, collaborative, and strength-based as possible. I want all of my clients to know that healing can be hard and exhausting, but it doesn’t have to be something that you do alone. It would be my honor and my pleasure to be allowed to walk with you while you navigate your healing journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate with training in brainspotting, EMDER, and trauma-informed care.

When I am not in the therapy room, I am usually reading or spending time with my family and my dog. I believe that there’s no such thing as too much learning or too much coffee. I am a Christian and love to integrate faith-based practices into my counseling.

If it sounds like I may be a good fit for your counseling needs, I would be honored to connect with you.

EAGALA Certified
Experiential & Trauma-Informed Therapist

Healing begins in safe, honest spaces—and my goal is to create one for every client I work with.

I support individuals (16+) and couples who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—helping them find clarity, connection, and new ways forward. My approach is warm, collaborative, and experiential. I use EMDR, CBT, and solution-focused methods to help clients process difficult experiences and move toward meaningful change.

For those who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated counseling, weaving in Scripture, prayer, and a Christian worldview to support healing on a spiritual level. Whether we are sitting in an office or working together outdoors with horses, I meet clients where they are—offering both grace and grounded guidance.

With 12 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of walking with clients through trauma, grief, addiction, PTSD, and relational distress. My work has included sessions on horse ranches, partnerships with non-profits, and creative modalities like equine-assisted therapy and couples’ social dance to build trust, communication, and connection.

Whatever season you’re in—you don’t have to walk it alone. I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

Andrew Deem, MA, LPCC (Pre-Licensed), Sand Tray Trained

His work is especially supportive for neurodivergent kids (ADHD, autism, sensory differences, big emotions)—and for parents who want their child to feel more regulated, confident, and understood. Sessions are warm and playful, while still structured and intentional, so kids feel safe while they build real-life skills like:

·         emotional regulation and coping strategies

·         anxiety and worry support

·         confidence, self-understanding, and resilience

·         healthier communication and behavior patterns

Andrew’s goal is simple: help your child feel safe enough to be themselves—and help your family feel steadier at home.

Works with: children, pre-teens, teenagers, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Andrew is a pre-licensed outpatient therapist practicing under licensed supervision at Living Water Trauma Counseling & Consulting.

When your child is anxious, overwhelmed, melting down, or shutting down, it can be hard to know what they’re trying to say—because kids don’t always have words for big feelings. Andrew specializes in helping children communicate through the language they know best: play, sand tray, creativity, and movement.

Kimberly Perlin, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern

Kimberly Perlin is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern practicing under licensed supervision with Elizabeth Moffitt, MA, LPC, NCC, EMDR at Living Water. She offers a warm, steady space for children, teens, and adults who feel stuck in anxiety, depression, trauma responses, overwhelm, or persistent self-doubt—and who want practical help that actually fits real life.

Kimberly’s style is supportive, client-centered, and collaborative. She moves at your pace, focusing on trust, emotional safety, and helping you feel truly understood.

Together, you’ll look at the patterns underneath what you’re experiencing—how thoughts, emotions, body sensations, and behaviors interact—and build clear, usable tools to help you feel more grounded, regulated, and confident in your next steps.

She is committed to thoughtful, evidence-based care and stays connected to current training, supervision, and consultation to ensure you’re receiving quality support throughout your work together.

Kimberly works with:

·         Children, pre-teens, and teenagers

·         Adults

·         Clients navigating faith and spiritual concerns

·         The LGBTQIA+ community

Faith-integrated counseling (optional): Kimberly is a Christian and can incorporate Christianity into sessions when desired—whether that means integrating prayer, Scripture, spiritual practices, or simply making space for faith-related questions and healing. Your preferences guide the work, always with respect and care.

Shannon comes from a Christian worldview perspective and can provide Christian counseling and faith-based support for clients who desire it, while honoring each client’s individual values.

Charisse (“Cha”)

Client Services Coordinator

Intakes • Insurance Verification • Billing Questions

Before joining our practice, I worked as a Senior Medical Technologist, a career that taught me precision, care, and the importance of being a first line of defense for people’s well-being. But my first love has always been psychology, and life eventually led me here, to a place where I get to combine my dedication to helping others with my passion for mental health. Even though I’m not the one providing therapy, I’m overjoyed to support clients in this meaningful way.

I’m often the first person you’ll connect with. You can trust that anything you share with me will be kept confidential and treated with respect. I understand that starting your mental health journey can feel daunting, and I’m here to listen without judgment. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, guide you through the process, and connect you with the counselor who best suits your needs.

Think of me as your first line of support, helping you take the next step toward care in a safe and welcoming environment. Even in small ways, I’m committed to making your experience easier and helping you feel seen, heard, and supported. No matter what season of life you’re in, sunny, stormy, or somewhere in between... we’re always here to support you. We look forward to helping you take the next step.

Our Therapeutic Approach

Healing is not one-size-fits-all.

Your nervous system, your life experiences, your trauma history, and your faith journey are uniquely yours.

Because of this, we use an integrative, trauma-informed, eclectic approach.

Our Faith Perspective

We believe God meets us in our pain — not after we’ve cleaned it up or made it presentable.

Our therapeutic stance echoes Jesus’ posture toward the hurting:
gentle, attuned, compassionate, and full of truth.

Clients of all backgrounds are welcome here.
We never force faith content.
We offer it as an open invitation to those who desire it.

What It Feels Like to Work With Us

Our clients often tell us things like:

  • “I finally feel understood.”

  • “This is the first time therapy has felt safe and judgment-free.”

  • “I feel like a weight is off my shoulders.”

  • “I feel like I’m reconnecting with God again.”

  • “I feel grounded for the first time in years.”

We honor the courage it takes to show up — and we walk with you every step of the way

You’ll notice that therapy with us feels:

✨ Warm

✨ Slow-paced (in a good way)

✨ Attuned and Authentic

✨ Gentle with your nervous system

✨ Rooted in hope

✨ Deeply relational

✨ Never pushy or clinical “textbook therapy.”

Why We’re Called “Living Water”

 You Are Welcome Here

Whether your pain feels fresh or decades old…
