How We Can Support You
You don’t have to know exactly what kind of therapy you need to get started.
If something feels overwhelming, painful, confusing, or heavy — that’s enough reason to reach out.
At Living Water Trauma Counseling & Consulting, we offer gentle, evidence-based counseling that honors your story, your nervous system, and your faith. Our work is rooted in neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and the belief that healing happens best in safe, relational spaces.
Below you’ll find the ways we most often support clients. If you’re unsure where you fit, we’re happy to help you figure that out.
Trauma Therapy & EMDR
Trauma can come from a single event or years of accumulated experiences. You may notice anxiety, emotional overwhelm, numbness, reactivity, or feeling disconnected from yourself or others.
We offer trauma therapy using:
EMDR
Brainspotting
Somatic & attachment-based approaches
Experiential and creative modalities
Our focus is safety first — helping your brain and body process what they couldn’t before, without rushing or retraumatizing.
Healing trauma at the pace your nervous system allows
Christian Counseling
For clients who desire it, we gently integrate Christian faith into the counseling process. This may include spiritual reflection, prayer, or exploring how faith has been impacted by trauma, grief, or life stress.
Faith is never forced here.
Your beliefs, questions, and pace are always respected.
Faith-integrated therapy for emotional and spiritual healing
Anxiety, ADHD & Overwhelm
Living with anxiety or ADHD can feel exhausting — especially when your mind feels overstimulated or your emotions feel hard to regulate.
We help clients:
• Calm the nervous system
• Build emotional regulation skills
• Reduce overwhelm and reactivity
• Work with (not against) how their brain is wired
This work often blends trauma-informed care, EMDR, Brainspotting, CBT, DBT, and faith-based support.
Support for racing thoughts, emotional flooding, and burnout
Grief & Loss Counseling
Grief doesn’t follow a timeline. Whether you’re grieving a death, relationship, role, or season of life, we offer a space where your grief is honored — not rushed or minimized.
We walk with you as you:
• Process loss
• Make meaning
• Reconnect with hope
• Find your footing again
Compassionate support through loss and life transitions
Equine-Assisted Counseling & Equine-Assisted EMDR
Experiential healing alongside horses
For some clients, working with a horse provides deep nervous-system regulation and insight that talk therapy alone can’t offer.
Equine-assisted work may help with:
Trauma and attachment wounds
Anxiety and emotional regulation
Confidence and connection
Mind-body awareness
This service is optional and offered with care, intention, and clinical grounding.
Counseling for Kids (10+) & Teens
Children and teens experience stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm too — often without the words to explain it.
We support kids and teens with:
Anxiety and emotional regulation
Trauma and difficult experiences
ADHD and overstimulation
Identity and relational challenges
Using EMDR, Brainspotting, experiential approaches, and relationship-centered care, we help young people feel safe, understood, and supported.
Developmentally attuned support for young people
Couples Counseling
Relationships can be deeply impacted by trauma, stress, grief, and unmet needs. We help couples slow things down, understand one another, and rebuild emotional safety.
Our work often includes:
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Attachment-based approaches
Trauma-informed relationship care
Strengthening connection, safety, and communication
Play Therapy (Ages 3+)
When kids are little, they don’t always have the words to explain what’s going on inside. Play therapy gives children a natural, developmentally appropriate way to show us their feelings—through toys, stories, art, and movement—so we can help them feel safer, steadier, and more confident.
Sandtray therapy is a gentle, powerful approach where children use miniatures and sand to create scenes that reflect their inner world. It can help kids process big experiences (like anxiety, grief, transitions, medical events, or family stress) without being pressured to “talk it out” before they’re ready.
Experiential therapy brings healing into the room through hands-on, body-based activities that support emotional regulation, resilience, and connection. Across these approaches, we focus on helping your child:
Feel calmer and more in control of big emotions
Reduce worry, meltdowns, aggression, or shutdowns
Improve sleep, separation comfort, and transitions
Build confidence, coping skills, and healthy attachment
Strengthen communication and connection at home
Parents are an important part of the process. We’ll keep you supported and informed, with practical tools you can use between sessions—so progress doesn’t just happen in therapy, it shows up in everyday life.
Not Sure Where to Start?
That’s okay.
You don’t need the “right” words or diagnosis to reach out. We’ll help you find the support that fits best.
